Insurance

Our company under appointment of the leading insurance companies carries out services such as survey inspection, appraisal, value assessment, claim adjustment and negotiation.

(A)Marine Cargo Insurance

Marine Cargo Insurance is a synonym for insurance covering during transit on the sea. In regard to the subject-matter insured, the marine underwriter bears the liability to compensate for all the accidental damages and losses occur during sea voyage unless otherwise specified in the policy.

(B)Liabilities Insurance

The insurance covering losses and/or damages that accidentally happen during course of regular conveyance, in comply with the policy when cargo loss claim arises, the underwriter shall be liable to compensate.

(C)Commercial Fixed Floating Insurance

In “Normal Transport Period” means from the time the cargoes leave the warehouse or place of storage at the place named herein for the commencement of the transit, continues during the ordinary course of transit until stevedore. The term “Transport” means the insured carrying the cargo by themselves or requesting third party to carry.

(D)Public Liability

In accordance with the insurance clauses, accidents involving injury, death or property loss of a Third Party during coverage period, the insurer shall be responsible for indemnity.

(E)Hull Insurance

Hull insurance covers losses or damages to hull (such as yacht, cargo ship, passenger ship, ferry etc.) and machinery, furnace, equipment etc. accessory. For full loss coverage, it includes rescue and loss prevention costs.

General Survey

Based on the requests of the cargo owner/applicant, we provide the following survey services:

(A) Along shipside import & export cargo quantity and appearance inspection

1. Loading/Pre-loading survey

2. Superintendence of loading/unloading to ensure cargoes is stevedore properly.

3. Superintendence of the proper use of equipments to avoid any accidents and/or cargo damages due to the misuse of equipments.

4. In the event of incidents, we ask the offender and/or the vessel owner to acknowledge the damage condition to ensure the insured/consignee’s rights were preserved.

Assist the insured/consignee in recovering their damage/loss with proper claim procedures.

※In full control of the discharging of Taiwan High-speed rail cart before it arrived at Kaohsiung Port. Highlight: We communicated with the local manufacturer, shipping agencies and provided training on the packing and shipping of the cart before discharging from the vessel.

(B)General Commodity, Bulk Cargo Survey

1. Draft survey.

2. Inspection on vessel condition and record loading/pre-loading procedure.

3. Calculation securing material suitability and demurrage charge.

4. Statement of facts.

5. Supervision whole loading/unloading process in accordance with the vessel loading guidelines.

6. In the event of incidents, we ask the offender and/or the vessel owner to acknowledge the damage condition to ensure the insured/consignee’s rights were preserved.

(C)Liquid bulk/Chemical Materials Survey

1. Calculation and inspection of Pipes and fittings.

2. Collecting relative documents and sample taking, for example: loading port sample, discharge survey report, cargo description from previous carriage on board and stowage plan...etc.,

3. Record keeping of the vessel condition, and piping and fitting conditions.

4. Sampling and Testing.

5. Tank cleaning inspection.

6. In the event of shortages occurred, we ask the offender and/or the vessel owner to acknowledge proper document to ensure the insured/consignee’s rights were preserved.

7. Assist the insured/consignee in recovering their damage/loss with proper claim procedures.

(D)Vessel On Hires/Off Hires

(F)Cargo Packing and Loading Survey

1. Inspection of the exterior of the container before loading.

2. Inspection of packaging to ensure cargoes is secured in place and other precaution on water damages.

3. Supervision of cargoes been properly loaded onto the container.

(G)Supervision for New Constructed Ships

1. During the process of new ship construction each survey inspection will be needed for each stage of completion in order for the lender to release funds, the survey during each stage is to determine the construction % of completion to the contract mark.

2. In-house supervision will also be an available service option in respect to the clients’/lenders’ need and request.

3. As at some point in time the lender/client will want the yard AP checked to determine how current they are with the subcontractors, also to check for sufficient supplies of raw materials, engines, generators…etc., that have been available in the yard based upon the completion mark in the contract.

4. Our survey service for the new constructed ship included the type of vessels like, Yachts, commercial ferries and workboats, cargo and tanker ships.

(H)Product Inspection

According to client’s requirement, assign pro-inspector to implement IQC, OQC or station at factory to audit full production line no mater at homeland or go abroad. Well appreciated by NPI Company for long term inspecting major products and supply support in need.

This project is authorized by the client in the Netherlands, “KOGA B.V.”, for inspecting the appearance and dimension of the bicycle parts, such as bicycle front fork and bicycle frame by dedicated inspector of TMS. Not only conduct the producing line checking, the inspector is also discuss the quality issues with the factory and confirm the improvement status of the issue from time to time. In addition, at any time the inspector could implement the above mentioned inspection at the factory of overseas supplier if necessary.

Appraisal Evaluation

We are appointed by court or clients to conduct valuation survey.

Right of subrogation

First subparagraph “Subrogation is the right for an insurer to pursue a third party that caused an insurance loss to the insured. This is done as a means of recovering the amount of the claim paid to the insured for the loss; however, the recovery amount requested by the insurer shall not exceed the loss amount paid.”

MIA1906 §79:

First subparagraph “Where the insurer pays for a total loss, either of the whole, or in the case of goods of any apportionable part, of the subject-matter insured, he thereupon becomes entitled to take over the interest of the assured in whatever may remain of the subject-matter so paid for, and he is thereby subrogated to all the rights and remedies of the assured in and in respect of that subject-matter as from the time of the casualty causing the loss.”
